I was raised in Henrietta, NY, 30 miles south of Rochester, NY with 3 brothers and a sister. I attended The College of William & Mary, in Williamsburg, Va, as a pre-law student. Needing a job, I joined the Print Shop and Bookbindery at Colonial Williamsburg where I learned traditional Letterpress and Bookbinding, with a focus on Bookbinding. After graduating from William & Mary, I stayed on in the Bindery for a couple of years, then went to law school. Since 1987 I have been practicing law in Philadelphia, and I also conduct Bookbinding workshops and repair books.
