Barry Deutsch
Vice President, Design
Born in Brooklyn midway into the last century, he studied and practiced graphic design in NYC and then saw a light and came West in the 60’s eventually partnering with an industrial designer creating the firm Steinhilber+Deutsch in the late 1970’s. There he created Logos, Packaging and Exhibits for many companies such as Electronic Arts, Esprit, Atari and JBL. In 1995 he and Lori Wynn founded Deutsch Design Works, a package design and branding group working for National and International companies such as Anheuser-Busch, Campbell’s, Annie’s, Suntory and Sprint.
Living on SF’s Potrero Hill with his wife Barbara — an eccentric spirit who became a well-known Bay Area amateur lepidopterist and gardener — he discovered there existed a “natural world” and started to guide his graphic design efforts toward working with environmental, ecologic and socially beneficial Non-Profit organizations i.e.; Turtle Island Restoration Network, Point Reyes National Seashore Association, Kids In Parks, Nature in the City, Environmental Action Committee of West Marin, Ceres Community Project and ultimately The River Otter Ecology Project. The rest is unwritten history…
