Chip In
With climate and environmental policy changes affecting our daily lives, we must act locally to protect our waterways for the health of otters, ourselves and all wildlife. We have the agency – as individuals – to make a difference. We have hope, and hope creates action, action creates resilience, and resilience creates strength in times of crisis and change. This gives generations after us the gift of healthier ecosystems.
River otters represent resilience, appearing since we began restoring San Francisco Bay. Their return across the United States after restoration and environmental recovery shows the change created by each individual contributing to make a difference.
When we care for our waterways, we care for otters, ourselves and our children. We’re becoming a national organization, with projects supporting watershed health in California, Arizona, Virginia, and Utah. Join our efforts and help us turn individual ripples into waves!
We invite you to consider one of the following ways to support our growing grass-roots organization. Please consider a recurring, monthly gift, check out our “Adopt an Otter” program or join our special friends in the Ring of Bright Water Circle.
If you would like to “rehome” your car, free of charge, we can arrange it all. Click here to donate your vehicle to River Otter Ecology Project.

Make a "Ring of Bright Water" Pledge
Make a multi-year pledge and help build a solid foundation for sustaining and expanding our programs. A Ring of Bright Water gift has a substantial impact on our ability to underwrite our long-range strategic plan, and establishes a long-term commitment to shared waters and all the species they support. It says, “you can count on me” years into the future, and that you are committed to a healthy world for you, your children, their children and into the future.
PLEDGE LEVELS
“Star of the Watershed”
$1,000/year for five years
A gift at this level will support our field research work, which not only tells us how otter recovery is faring, but gives us “eyes on the watershed” to help us advocate with land managers/owners for better conservation decision-making.
Along with your Star of the Watershed pledge, you will receive two free tickets to River Otter Ecology Project’s yearly fundraiser.
“Land, Sea and Sky”
$5,000/year for five years
A gift at this level enables us to support annual Otter Spotter costs and our Otter Ambassador program, which takes conservation to the people, neighborhood by neighborhood.
Along with your Land, Sea, and Sky pledge, you will receive 4 free tickets to River Otter Ecology Project’s yearly fundraiser.
“Headwaters to Ocean”
$10,000/year for five years
This sustaining-level gift allows us the room to consider expanding programs like adding Otter Ambassadors to new places, adding on to our Fieldscope partnership that connects Otter Spotters to their own very local conservation goals, and increasing our involvement with advocating for our wild spaces.
Along with your Headwaters to Ocean pledge, you will receive 4 free tickets to River Otter Ecology Project’s yearly fundraiser and a private Otter Safari for up to 10 people with one of our Founders. Meet the Crew, enjoy the otters!
